Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

The website owned and titled by JABER, S.A. (hereinafter “the web” or “the website”) uses cookies and/or similar technologies that store and retrieve information when you browse. In general, these technologies can be used for very diverse purposes, such as recognizing you as a user, obtaining information about your browsing habits, or customizing the way content is displayed.

The user may configure their browser to notify and reject the installation of cookies sent by the website, without this affecting the possibility of accessing the contents of said website, but the quality of the website's functionality may decrease.

The specific uses we make of these technologies are described below.

2. What types of cookies exist?

Cookies, depending on their Duration, can be divided into:

  • Session Cookies
These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that is only necessary to retain for the provision of the service requested. They expire when the user closes the browser.
  • Persistent Cookies
They are those in which the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a defined period depending on when the purpose for which they serve is met (for example, to keep the user identified in the Services) or when they are deleted manually.

Depending on their Owner, they can be divided into:

  • First-party Cookies
These are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party Cookies
These are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

Additionally, depending on their purpose, Cookies can be classified as follows:

  • Technical Cookies
These are those that allow the user to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services that exist there, including those that the editor uses to allow the management and operation of the website and enable its functions and services such as, for example, identifying the session or controlling traffic and data communication.
  • Preference or personalization Cookies
This type of Cookie remembers your preferences for the tools found in the services, so you do not have to reconfigure the service every time you visit. For example, this typology includes:
    • Volume settings for video or sound players.
    • Video transmission speeds that are compatible with your browser.
    • Geo-location Cookies: These Cookies are used to find out which country you are in when a service is requested. This Cookie is completely anonymous, and is only used to help guide the content to your location.
  • Registration Cookies
Registration Cookies are generated once the user has registered or subsequently logged in, and are used to identify them in the services with the following objectives:
    • To keep the user identified so that if they close a service, the browser, or the computer and return to that service at another time or on another day, they will remain identified, thus facilitating their navigation without having to log in again. This functionality can be suppressed if the user clicks the “log out” function, so that this Cookie is deleted and the next time the user enters the service, they will have to log in to be identified.
    • To check if the user is authorized to access certain services, for example, to participate in a contest.
  • Analytics or measurement Cookies
Every time a User visits a service, a tool from an external provider generates an analytical Cookie on the user's computer. This Cookie, which is only generated during the visit, will serve to anonymously identify the visitor on subsequent visits to the Website Services. The main objectives pursued are:
    • To allow the anonymous identification of browsing users through the “Cookie” (identifies browsers and devices, not people) and therefore the approximate counting of the number of visitors and their trend over time.
    • To anonymously identify the most visited and therefore most attractive content for users.
    • To know if the accessing user is new or a returning visitor.
    • Important: Unless the user decides to register for a Web service, the “Cookie” will never be associated with any personal data that can identify them. These Cookies will only be used for statistical purposes that help optimize the Users' experience on the site.
  • Behavioural advertising Cookies
This type of “Cookies” allows for the expansion of information about the advertisements shown to each anonymous user in the Web Services. Among others, the duration or frequency of viewing advertising positions, interaction with them, or the user's browsing patterns and/or behaviour are stored, as they help to shape an advertising interest profile. In this way, they allow advertising tailored to the user's interests to be offered.
  • Third-party advertising Cookies
In addition to the advertising managed by the Website in its Services, the Website offers its advertisers the option of serving advertisements through third parties ("AdServers"). In this way, these third parties can store Cookies sent from the Website Services originating from Users' browsers, as well as access the data stored therein.

3. Which cookies do we use?
